Company Open House

My company is having the open house few days after chap goh mei but the celebration is still grand.  We do it in our car park with invitation to employees, their family member and VIP.

In the morning, we started with lion and dragon dancer while at night beside lion and dragon dance, we also have drama played by committee member (and I am one of them).

Happy Chinese New Year from Kuala Terengganu

Gong xi fa Cai
We drove back to KT on 17 Feb on the new highway, it took us only 6 hours with 110/90 kmh as we drive slowly with 2 stopped.
My hubby enjoyed the driving.  We are here for 5 days.  Nothing much to do in KT, no shopping mall, no cinema and no much relative to visit as many of them are in KL or went overseas for trip.

So, we were at home enjoying the TV and munching food.

I wish everyone on gong xi fa cai and hope that 2015 will be a smoothly year for us.

CNY preparation

This year we will celebrate our CNY in our new home.  Last weekend was the final preparation as it was the last weekend available.

Over the weekend I make few more snacks and 1 type of cookies.  I have few helpers to assist me this time.  I just have to do the mixing and they will do the rest.

Chap Goh Mei

Chap Goh Mei is the 15th day of first month in chinese calender.  It is also known as Chinese Valentine Day.

This Sunday (24/2) is Chap Goh Mei and for the dinner, I am not going to cook as much as I did for CNY eve.  Cooking so much means eating too much.

CNY Reunion Dinner

This year we are in Klang again to celebrate CNY.  Not going back to Terengganu because my MIL is here to be with us.  However, my mum is back to Sarawak to be with my eldest brother.  My sister is married therefore, she is with her husband in Singapore.  My youngest brother is here with me this year.  If I am in Klang celebrating CNY, I am the one will be in charge of the reunion dinner.  Even only 6 of us here, I still cooked the same amount of dishes.  I just love cooking for my family.  So, the menu of the night

1) Stomach pig soup with fish maw
2) Roasted pork (siew yuk). I got the recipe from here.  A very easy to follow recipe and you will never get it wrong.
3) Steamed chicken
4) Roasted duck (I bought this)
5) Mixed mushroom
6) Mixed vegetable
7) Stir fried Chinese leek with pork belly
8) Steamed garlic prawn
9) Teo chew steamed fish
10) Fried noodle
11) Ngo hiang (This is made by my MIL).

Total 11 dishes and I am so happy as they really enjoyed the food.  Let see the photos below

Chinese New Year Celebration in Klang

This year we didn't go back to Kuala Terengganu (my beloved hubby's hometown) because I don't enough leave.  I will start work on the 4th day of CNY.  3rd day of CNY is compulsory leave declare by my company. I have to keep my leave for my holiday in May & August.  Pity me....sob!sob!sob!
But I enjoyed the celebration here in Klang because I am fully in charge of the kitchen and my family can also ordered what they like to eat for CNY reunion dinner.  Sorry, no photos for the dinner as I was too busy in the kitchen.

On 1at day of CNY, we went to Kuan Yin Temple in Klang town and it is our routine every year.

Lion Dance to celebrate the Water Dragon
On the 2nd day of CNY, we went for movie at MBO, Harbour Place in Port Klang.  We watched I Love Hong Kong 2 but it is not the worth watching but still good for the children.
On 3rd day of CNY, I asked my mum to teach me how to make Acar Timun (Sarawak's version).  I will post the recipe later.
And on the 4th day CNY, I started work and join the company "Kai Kong" lunch at Friend's Restaurant at Kota Kemuning.
Office was quiet because most of the colleagues are still on leave.  My hubby will start work on Friday.
On 6th day, we went to hubby's sister house in Damansara for visiting.  After that we brought the kids to 1 Utama and we had our dinner at Chilli's Restaurant.
On 7th day, we were at home relaxing as the kids will be starting school on the next day.  Hubby & I went for movie after dinner.  We wanted to watch "The Viral Factor" as it is filmed in Malaysia.
