Dinner at Bar B Q Plaza, Bukit Tinggi

I am on leave today because have to go to Cyn's school to collect report card.  She did pretty well this time and her teacher has no complaint about her.
To celebrate her improvement and belated father's day, we went to Bar B Q plaza at Aeon Bukit Tinggi.
I bought 4 coupons from everyday.com.my  last week at a very cheap price.  I would say it is a very good deal !
I would say the food are yummy and my hubby loves the brown sauce with lots of chilli and garlic.  The cabbage make the soup so sweet.

Forget to take photo....this is beef set

I also purchase another coupon from every.com.  Will go for the steamboat again.  I love steamboat.  Their promotion is listed on the right of my blog.  Some of the deals are not bad.

Sleepy Mood

I have to wake up as early as 5.30am to get Cyn ready for school as the van driver will come and fetch her at 6.10am.  After that, I will take a short nap before I take my shower at 6.40am.  I have 30mins to sleep again...sound so nice, right ? BUT..... thing has changed !!!
Since last week, Maine will also wake up when her sister is up and she refuses to sleep again.  I think the weather is too hot....she wants to watch TV at 5.30am !!  and take shower as early as 6.15am.  So, mummy also has to watch TV with her...
So, mummy is in this mood since last week in office.....

Happy Father's Day

Ooopsss...not today...It was yesterday.  Happy father's day to all the fathers especially to Cyn and Maine daddy (that's my hubby).  To celebrate father's day, Cyn prepared breakfast for her daddy (of course with mummy help).  She prepared american breakfast which consists of 2 slices of toast bread, sausage, chicken ham, scramble egg, hash brown and a glass of orange juice.  Didn't manage to take photo yesterday.  Mummy and Cyn were too busy preparing the breakfast until we forget to take photo.  I believe daddy must be very happy with the breakfast prepared by his 10 years old princess.  Maine was also in the kitchen but not helping but messing up the kitchen.  Happy Father's Day.

My father passed away when I was 16 years old.  My sister called to school to tell me that my father collapsed when he was at the hawker stall.  With the headmistress' permission, I rushed back by taking a bus.  But by the time I reached home, he was already taken to hospital, so my neighbour asked me to wait at home.  My mother and youngest brother (he was only 6 years old that time) came home to tell us he had left us forever.  He died at 51 and I will missed him forever.  Father, I love you !

Chinese Dumpling

今天是月初五端午节.  Today is 5th day of the 5th month of lunar calendar also known as Dragon Boat Festival.  To know more about this festival, please refer to  here.
We will make  粽子 (zong zi) during this festival.  To read more about the chinese dumpling, please refer here.
I also made some 粽子 on Saturday morning.  I already start to prepare the ingredient on Friday night and we planned to make the dumpling on Saturday morning as I have to attend a wedding in the afternoon.  Every year, I am the one to cook the rice and ingredient as I am not so skillful in wrapping it.  My mum & sis will take charge of wrapping it.  However, I have no recipe to share here as I cook the ingredient based on "agak-agak" as how I learn from my mother.  My dumpling ingredient consists of pork, mushroom, dried shrimp and chestnut.  Maybe I will get the right measurement next year and post the recipe in my blog.

Wedding

Last weekend was packed with activities.  MOVIE was postponed again !  I attended a Sikh wedding lunch reception in Port Klang which scheduled to start at 1pm (as mentioned in the invitation card).  However, the bride only arrive at 3pm.  Cyn supposed to go for her badminton training at 4pm.  I managed to call her coach to change her session to Sunday at 11am.  We were there since 12.50pm to witness the arrival of the bride & groom but we were made to wait for 2 hours !!  Luckily, Cyn brought her PVP otherwise she will be very restless.  Maine has taken her lunch at home before we come.
So, we had our lunch at 3.10pm.  We were extremely hungry.  We left the hall at 3.30pm and reach home at 4pm.  All of us were tired especially with the hot weather that afternoon.  I put Maine to sleep and I also had a nice afternoon nap....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The groom entering the hall
We are still so full as we had our lunch at 3.10pm, so we decided not to cook dinner.  My ex-colleague came to my house at 8.30pm and we had a nice chat till about 10pm.

- 1 handful of dried shrimp
- some minced meat (i used pork)
- 900 ml of water
- 3 tbsp of fish sauce
- salt to taste
- cooking oil

Step by step
  1. Shred the pumpkin (refer to photo)
  2. Mixed the rice flour and wheat flour with 900 ml of water to form watery batter (refer to photo)
  3. Chopped the garlic and shallot
  4. Heat up the cooking oil and put in the garlic & shallot. Fry till golden brown
  5. Add in the dried shrimp, fry a while and add in minced meat.   Now you can add in the salt
  6. When the meat is cook, add in the shredded pumpkin
  7. Mixed the pumpkin with the stir fry ingredient
  8. Now, add in the flour mixture and mix well. Remember to use slow fire now
  9. After all are well mixed, pour in the mixture into 11" round pan and steam for 45mins.
